Kicking Off Wedding Season – The Beard Wedding
Posted by Fun DMC on March 17th 2021
On February 27th, Fun DMC kicked off the start of our 2021 wedding season with the marriage of Megan & Bryan Beard at Arlington’s in Springfield, IL. Megan & Bryan planned everything perfectly for the style and size of wedding and reception they were looking for!
Being that Arlington’s is a two-story historic venue and catering service all in one, Megan & Bryan were able to have many of their needs meet by one location. With adequate floor space and a bar on both the first and second story, Megan & Bryan were able to keep their guests in one location for their wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner service, and reception.
At the start of the afternoon, the second floor was set with rows of chairs facing the beautiful historic stage, lined with mirrors. Megan looked stunning in a long-sleeve gown and brilliant tiara as she walked down the aisle to greet Bryan. Fun DMC was grateful to be a part of their entire day, providing sound equipment and music for the ceremony along with services throughout the rest of the evening.
While the newlyweds were photographed by the brilliant Chris Withers Photography, guests were invited to the first story for cocktails and mingling. With an efficient changeover by Fun DMC and the staff at Arlington’s, the room was ready for dinner and dancing. Each table was beautifully decorated with a centerpiece like we have never seen.
At each table was a small cake adorned with the table number and presented with a set of serving ware. While they cut the cake on their sweetheart table, Megan & Bryan asked that a married couple at each table cut their own cake as well. I was almost in tears as Chad and I cut the cake at our table and celebrated our years marriage alongside Megan & Bryan’s newly made vows.
Megan & Bryan made a few other unique choices for their wedding that we also loved. Instead of having a best man or maid of honor speak, Megan & Bryan each gave speeches thanking the people in their lives who have supported them individually and in their journey together. During the father/daughter dance, Bryan also stepped in to dance with Megan’s father. It was as though he was saying, “thank you for letting me be a piece of your family”.
When it was time, our team at Fun DMC was excited to take the stage and share a few upgrades and additions to our live performance, including newly programed lighting and a beautiful new slow-dance medley. The guests at the Beard Wedding danced the night away and Fun DMC was left joyful and smiling knowing everyone had a wonderful evening.
