Those Summer Nights
Posted by Robert Reynolds on June 20th 2018
According to the calendar hanging in my kitchen the first official day of summer is tomorrow. That said, you would never know it judging by the heat wave from last weekend. There was no shortage of bands playing outdoor venues over the weekend including the Sangamon County Fair. As for Fun DMC we had the good fortune to be inside the wonderfully air conditioned Knights of Columbus Hall on Meadowbrook for a retirement party.
Having played quite a bit of May and June on the festival circuit, it was the first time that the band had utilized their full production set up in over a month. After dusting off a few lights and knocking some cobwebs away from the TV screens, everything seems to be in fine working order and ready for the rest of the summer. Looking over the calendar, I don’t believe there is a weekend without a show from now until November. Make sure you stop out and see us at The Boar’s Nest in Athens Illinois this Friday night where we will kick off something like 24 consecutive weekends of shows.
