The Harvey wedding reception, which took place at the historic Inn At 835 this past weekend, was one of the most elegant events that Fun DMC has been a part of this year. From the moment the newlyweds arrived in a Rolls Royce Limousine, the bar was set. The staff at The Inn spared no detail to ensure that the reception hall would be the setting for a lovely event, including a cocktail hour with full service hors d’oeuvres. To further compliment the decor and centerpieces, the couple also enlisted Fun DMC to provide uplighting that would match their wedding colors for the event. However, for all of its elegance, the Harvey reception was not without its charm. As guests arrived, they were treated to several large bins full of multi-flavored popcorn, courtesy of the newly opened Pittman’s Popcorn Shop, whose flavors include everything from traditional butter, cheese and caramel to the more exotic flare which included strawberry, jalapeño, and even Dr. Pepper.

This was also the band’s first time working with Apartment C Photography. Over the past year, Fun DMC has had the honor of working with some very fine local photographers and Polly Parsons was no exception. Polly had an impressive attention to detail and ability to capture every moment while maintaining an unintrusive range. Her website and finished work is definitely worth a look.

As programming pushed on, the band got down to the business of entertaining the guests of Cody and Stephanie Harvey. Albert, Katey, Aaron, Talon, and myself were soon joined by a vibrant dance floor party that lasted the duration of the night. The band finished their live set but the party continued for another hour relying on a playlist of some of the best of ‘90s pop.

The band has a rare weekend off this week and then we are back at it with a double header which begins at The Curve Inn on Friday, October 21st and a wedding the next evening.
