As wedding season continues, Fun DMC had the honor of celebrating the marriage of Corey and Jamie Fitzpatrick back at the Inn at 835 in Springfield, IL.  We first met Jamie at the Elegant Bridal Expo last summer and it was nice to finally see their wedding come together almost an entire year later.

The weather was humid but perfect for an outdoor ceremony and as usual, the staff at The Inn at 835 was a pleasure to work with.  They were incredibly accommodating during our lengthy set up and sound check and we look forward to getting back there for more events.

Paige was down in Nashville this weekend at CMA Fest, so Katey stepped in to fill her spot.  We’ve touched on the fact that we use backups before, but we’ll probably do a more thorough post about how we make that work at a later date.  Meanwhile, as usual, Katey was always willing to jump in and quickly learn new songs so that we didn’t have to readjust our set list.

The dance floor was jumping for the entire evening and there wasn’t a single moment where the father of the bride wasn’t cutting a rug during our set.  Justin Timberlake’s “Cant Stop The Feeling” continues to earn its place as this year’s Uptown Funk in terms of crowd response.

We have one more wedding this month at the Aqua Sports Club for some long-time friends of the band and then a busy weekend at the end of the month with a show at the always-memorable Blue Grouch and a private party in Chicago.  Check out our shows page to see where else we’re headed this summer!
