Sia vs Linkin Park – Numb (Crawling)/Elastic Heart

Recently we saw the loss of one of the most influential people to this generations’ musicians, Chester Bennington. Personally, this loss was a rough one for me. Chester was one of the lead vocalists for nu-metal powerhouse Linkin Park and their first two albums, Hybrid Theory and Meteora, are two of my favorite albums of all time. I am going to seem like a huge nerd, not that that is inaccurate, but my first recollection of listening to Linkin Park was watching animated Dragonball Z videos set to Linkin Park’s song In the End. Pretty much from that point on, Linkin Park has arguably been my favorite band of all time. From Crawling and One Step Closer to Feint and Numb, all the way to recent hits Guilty All the Same and, admittedly, Heavy after a few listens. They have pumped out hit after hit, becoming one of the biggest rock/pop/electronica/rap artists in the world.
In a previous Mashup Monday post, Linkin Park’s team-up with Jay-Z was discussed with their collaboration “Collision Course”. While that whole album is a goldmine of mashups, there are a great number of other mashups done with Linkin Park’s songs that could span this series of posts for months to come. In honor of Chester Bennington, here is a solid mashup of Numb with Sia’s Elastic Heart. RIP Chester.
