Ed Sheeran vs Disturbed – Shape of the Sickness
Posted by Talon Holmes on August 28th 2017
Let me start off by saying that this is a clean version of Down with the Sickness, I felt as though that might be pertinent information for those of you who are familiar with Disturbed’s iconic song off of their first album. Now that that is out of the way this is an interesting mashup, combining the hit powerhouse (and I feel that is an understatement) that is Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You with Down with the Sickness. Two very, VERY different songs that somehow oneboredjeu Mashup (youtube mashup artist) put together in a manner that I feel works pretty well.
Being honest, this one probably won’t be a lot of people’s favorite mashup and it isn’t mine, but I think it is definitely worth listening to. It goes to show the creativity and outside the box thinking that comes with creating mashups. The softer instrumentals add a different inflection to David Draiman’s (Disturbed) vocals. It still has an aggressive attack to it, but I think it provides an atmosphere to where someone can more appreciate the voice that he has (side note: I highly recommend listening to Disturbed’s cover of The Sound of Silence).
So, with an open mind give this one a shot, maybe you will find something new you like. If you do like it, great! Tell us what you enjoyed about the song! If you didn’t like it that’s alright too, music is different for everyone. Do you know any other cool mashups that maybe we haven’t talked about yet and want our take on it, or you just want to share it? Send it our way on the Facebook page tagging it #MashupMonday or shoot me an e-mail at plustalonholmes@fundmc.net. Have a great week!
