Fun DMC Featured in Illinois Times’ Band Spotlight

Fun DMC is honored to be the focus of the Illinois Times‘ Band Spotlight this week. In case you aren’t in the downstate delivery area, you can view the article online here or read it here:
Take the cover band concept of playing popular songs and combine it with a DJ-style song mashup to make an “oddly entertaining blend of musical alchemy”, and there you have the design behind Fun DMC. Combined artists include Journey and Metallica, Nelly and The Bee Gees, Run-D.M.C. and Avril Lavigne, Usher and Michael Jackson, LMFAO and AC/DC, and even Lynyrd Skynyrd and Tupac to give you a small sample of what’s going on here. In another fun method of entertaining, Robert Reynolds (guitars, vocals) and Aaron Stanley (bass, vocals), both formerly of Closing Time, Albert Capati (vocals) formerly of Novocaine, Springfield theater and Muni favorite Paige Martin (vocals), plus Talon Holmes (drums) developed the “extended thematic medley” technique, offering up a collection of related songs often reaching 12 minutes in length. That’s not all, as this group includes a high-energy live show in the mix, which contains but is not limited to leaping and jumping from tables, bars and drumkits. Whatever it takes, Fun DMC promises you will be entertained.
