Jay Z Linkin Park Collision Course

With the success of Danger Mouse’s The Grey Album, mashups had broken into the public zeitgeist and Jay-Z tracks were being mixed with a number of artists and released on music platforms like myspace and mp3.com.  However, no had yet taken on producing an album of new recordings of mashups until MTV involved Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park and Jay-Z.  The six-song EP, Collision Course, release had all of the nu-metal energy and angst of mid-00’s Linkin Park combined with the unique style of Jay-Z’s verses.  It was a #1 Billboard hit, Grammy award winner (2006), and resulted in a few concerts showcasing the album.
