Any performer knows that there is an art form to winning over a crowd. On any given night, an act may find themselves on stage in front of a group that is already warmed up and ready to engage. Sometimes there is the occasional cold start where the artist finds themselves having to work a little harder to earn a full dance floor. If temperature is the measurement by which we determine crowd participation, then it would be safe to say that the crowd at Arlington’s in Springfield, IL on Saturday night was red-hot from the first song.

Fun DMC, the friendly faces at Hubbard Photography, and the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jarret Kelly’s wedding reception, spent the better part of the evening dancing off the calories they found at dinner prepared by the wonderful staff at Arlington’s. Formerly known as Broadway, the restaurant and bar is quickly becoming a local favorite for both patrons and wedding parties. Their upstairs reception hall is undoubtedly the perfect setting for any reception to host a band including a stage and nearby bar.

We also debuted two new mashups, including “Let’s Get Loud,” a rare slow dance mash up of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” and the Marvn Gaye classic “Let’s Get It On.” The other has to do with the Sir Mix-a-Lot classic, “Baby Got Back” but you’ll have to come out to see us at The Curve Inn on August 5th to find out. Incidentally, the band will be celebrating their 100th show.
