Top 15 Mother/Son Dance Songs (and 5 Bonus Ideas!)
Posted by Fun DMC on March 9th 2016
The father/daughter dance has become a staple of traditional wedding receptions and is a wonderful and often touching moment for a father to share with his little girl. A tradition that is quickly becoming less uncommon is the mother/son dance, where the groom dances with his mother to a song of their choice. It become more popular about 20 years ago and is quickly becoming a regular request during the special dance time of the reception. In some cases, the newly married couple might combine the father/daughter dance with the mother/son dance and choose one song. Whatever you choose, making the moment has a lot to do with choosing an appropriate song.
Alternatively, you could delight your guests with a full choreographed routine like this South Dakota mother and son did. While this is certainly a personal choice between the two (we’ve even heard of mothers and dancing to AC/DC), here are 15 popular options plus 5 of our personal favorites that didn’t make the list.
