Your band has had a few weeks off but this past week pushed us back into a fury of doing what we love most – Entertaining at any cost.

Feb 1st, 7:03 PM: Talon messages the band that he broke his hand and will not be able to play drums at our upcoming double-header weekend.

Feb 1st, 7:04 PM: Robert probably swears a lot.

Feb 2nd, 9:01 PM: Aaron contacts fill-in drummer for Talon, Fred Saurmann.

Feb 4th, 10:05 AM: Band assembles with fellow Springfield band, Smashtag to begin filming Learn To Dance Part 2.

Feb 6th, 9:57 AM: After waiting an hour at the Wyndam lobby, Learn To Dance Part 2 finally uploads to Facebook and is seen by the world.

Feb 9th, 5:04 PM: Band assembles to rehearse with Fred. Fred knows his stuff.

Feb 10th, 3:17 PM: Band departs Springfield for Hamilton’s in Jacksonville.

Feb 10th, 4:05 PM: Band learns that the venue’s elevator is out of service.

Feb 10th, 4:07 PM: Band collectively burns 9000+ calories carrying a trailer full of equipment up to the second floor.

Feb 10th, 4:37 PM: The parking incident.

Feb 10th, 5:17 PM: Band completes set up, calls Dane Vincent for restaurant recommendations in Jacksonville.

Feb 10th, 6:05 PM: Band dines at Jacksonville’s Brickhouse BBQ.

Feb 10th, 7:15 PM: Local auctioneer Jess Spradlin raises money for the Jacksonville Rotary Club Charity Auction.

Feb 10th, 8:23 PM: FUN DMC takes the stage.

Feb 10th, 9:20 PM: The fire alarm at Hamilton’s goes off. Emergency services arrive. Apparently, FUN DMC is too hot to handle.

Feb 10th, 9:21 PM: FUN DMC plays through the alarm.

Feb 10th, 10:35 PM: FUN DMC shuts down.

Feb 10th, 10:36 PM: Robert remembers the stairs, probably swears a lot.

Feb 10th, 11:47 PM: Band locks up the trailer, returns to Springfield.

Feb 11th, 5:35 PM: Band arrives at Mowie’s Cue, thankful that no stairs will be involved.

Feb 11th, 6:55 PM: Sister band, Smashtag, sound checks. iPad Wi-Fi connection is lost. Robert probably swears a lot.

Feb 11th, 8:01 PM: Sam, Matt, Jesse, Randy, and Dane of Smashtag take the stage and deliver a super high-energy setlist to the ever swelling crowd at Mowie’s. The dance floor fills up. Caricature artist, Ed Lozano Jr. of Apachegraphics Studios stays extremely busy creating artwork for patrons of Mowie’s.

Feb 11th, 8:23 PM: A waiting line forms outside of Mowie’s. Extra help is called in to help stock the bar and serve guests.

Feb 11th, 10:17 PM: FUN DMC takes the stage. It’s a blur that includes hula hoops, polaroid pictures, mashups, and a little bit of feedback around 120k.

Feb 11th, 12:10 PM: FUN DMC plays “Let’s Get It On.” People do.

Feb 12th, 12:35 AM: FUN DMC shuts the circus down. Tear down and load out commences. Special shout out to Jesse and Matt of Smashtag for the help.

Feb 12th, 1:57 AM: Your band arrives at Steak N Shake. Any resolutions to make healthy choices are quickly forgotten.

Feb 12th, 3:17 AM: The trailer is returned to its final resting place.
